Having Fun with the Whole Family

Some of my favourite childhood memories are going on family outings to the beach or an adventure to the National Park. In a similar way, a highlight for BSF families are the exciting Family Fun Days provided for them every couple of months.

Prior to participating in a BSF project, most of our families never had the chance to go on an exciting outing with their whole family. This is often due to the financial hardships the family faced and the challenges of every day life consuming their time.

Building Strong Families provides holistic family strengthening for each family. A big part of this is helping family members develop socially and emotionally. BSF aims to provide opportunities that build healthy relationships and bring joy and dignity to each family. Our Family Fun Days are wonderful fun-filled days that create space and time for this to happen, along with a lot of laughter, food and crazy adventures.

On the 15th August 2020, BSF was able to support our project partner in Thailand, The Acts Church of Chiang Mai, to take seven BSF families out on a Family Fun Day to the beautiful Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden. The families had a wonderful time exploring the rainforest and flowers, eating lots of yummy food, and they even had some fun painting a flower pot to start their own little garden.

It is such a joy to see families who have faced so much hardship come together for a day of celebration and laughter. Thanks to all of you who are supporting and enabling BSF to help build strong loving relationships within these families. You even bring joy and make the world a bit of a brighter place just by providing a colourful flower pot every now and then!

Please consider partnering with BSF to help keep more children in stronger families.
