A Journey of Transformation Begins for 18 New Families

What a delight to start the year by welcoming 18 new BSF families from Thailand and Nepal to join 18-month family strengthening programs.

Ten families from Ton Pao, Thailand, and eight families from Chhampi, Nepal, met each other on exciting Open Days and eagerly began their journey towards holistic transformation.

New BSF families from both Thailand and Nepal were introduced to the BSF Program’s objectives and goals during their Open Days. Active discussions were held regarding the commitment and responsibilities required to develop a stronger and more sustainable family. A shared goal for all families was that after 18 months, stronger family units will be formed, better quality of life established, and families will be able to keep their children with them in a loving and more sustainable family.

During the Open Days, new friendships were formed, common experiences shared, and a lot of fun was had as the families enjoyed participating in empowering activities and fun games. The participants wrote down their expectations and dreams for what they would like to see come to fruition in their family under the guidance of BSF in the coming months.

Families were reminded of the key components of their 18-month program that would assist them to develop their capacity, knowledge, and resilience in their loving family. Some of these activities include income generation assistance, parent/caregiver training sessions, family fun days, education and health assistance, home visitations, a family graduation camp, and plenty of encouragement and support from their loving and caring Program Coordinator.

Our new BSF families now have renewed hope and eager expectation about what the year ahead holds. They have seized an opportunity to see a brighter future for their family. After exciting Open Days together that laid a good foundation for what is ahead, the families formed new friendships, extended their gratitude, and were ready and eager to set out on their transformative journey.

Laxmi from Chhampi, Nepal said "Thank-you so much for this wonderful opportunity to be a part of a BSF family strengthening program. I was extremely worried as a single parent about how to raise my daughter, but now I am confident that I will be well equipped to raise her on my own."
