A Better Education for Beaming Binita

Binita is a hard-working young girl from an impoverished family in Nepal. Her transformation began after she received an opportunity for a better education through BSF. Binita has since excelled in her studies and graduated to a higher level, leaving her excited and hopeful about a brighter future. On top of that, her family are becoming more sustainable to provide for their own needs thanks to some plump little piglets.

Binita is a precious young girl from Nepal. She is from a very poor family and lacked the basic opportunities of other children. To try to provide for the family, Binita's mother often left for long periods of time to find work in other people's fields. This left Binita in an isolated and vulnerable situation as she often had to take care of herself while her mother was away.

The family often lacked enough food to eat. There were increasing bills and Binita's mother couldn't pay for her education. Binita's dream of a quality education to help them get out of poverty seemed like it may never come true.

After hearing of their situation, BSF invited the family to join an 18-month family strengthening program in Jharuwarashi, Nepal. Since that time, Binita has received educational assistance, guidance, and encouragement to help her with her studies. Her school fees and supplies have been provided by BSF and she no longer worries about whether she can continue with her education.

Binita is a diligent student and works really hard. Through her hard work and the support of BSF, Binita has now graduated from Grade 10, excelling in her academics. She was overjoyed to receive an A+ in English and is fluent in speaking the language. BSF has supported Binita's enrolment into High School and continues to assist furthering her education. She is an exemplary student, and we are so proud of her.

Binita not only works hard at school, but she also goes above and beyond to assist her mother at home. She works in their field and helps with the household duties. After returning from school, Binita also assists her mother to take care of their new pigs.

A goal of the BSF program is to help each family become more financially sustainable to provide for the needs of their family. Therefore, after discussion and planning with Binita's mum, BSF provided the family with three piglets. After taking good care of these pigs, they sold them for 75,000NPR (about $600USD). From the proceeds of the sale, they were then able to buy four more piglets to raise, and after all their costs were still able to save around 35,000NPR (about $280USD). These little piggies are now helping to provide for Binita's dream of an ongoing quality education and for the needs of her whole family.

Binita joyfully said, "My family have received so much assistance from BSF! I used to feel like a girl who lacked so much, but after BSF stepped in and brought new opportunity my way, my life has changed, and I have become who I am today. Thank you so much for everything! It is difficult for me to express in words just how much I appreciate your support."
