Most of us will have been affected by Covid-19 in some way. It is challenging times. Spare a thought for those families in the underdeveloped world who were already struggling with poverty and health issues before the pandemic.
Building Strong Families aims to provide holistic support to families facing poverty so they can keep children in a loving family and grow stronger and sustainable. Our focus is usually on sustainable development, but there are times like this when families need some relief as well.
Over the last few months during the Covid-19 lockdown in Nepal, some of our BSF families have struggled to make ends meet. Even with our best efforts to help develop sustainable livelihoods for each family prior to the pandemic, the restrictions have meant many have had to close their small businesses temporarily.
In response to this, with the help of our project partner in Nepal and our generous donors and partners, BSF has been providing our families with relief supplies to support them through this challenging period.
Each family received 30kg rice, 15 packets of instant noodles, 2kg of wheat flour, 2kg of lentils, cooking oil, salt, detergent, and hand sanitizer.
Restrictions are beginning to ease in Nepal and BSF family businesses are slowly opening up and making money again. Thank you for helping us support these families with relief and development so they can make it through these difficult times to build strong loving sustainable families for their children. We appreciate your help.
