What a delight it was to start the New Year by welcoming 28 new families into three BSF 18-month family strengthening programs in Thailand and Nepal. The BSF extended family is expanding!
Twenty families joined two programs in Mae Hia and Tha Wang Tan, Thailand, and eight families joined a program in a new BSF community in Dukuchap, Nepal. Their exciting journey toward holistic transformation has just begun!
During the three ‘Opening Days’, all families were introduced to the program's objectives and goals, and their commitment and responsibility to develop a stronger sustainable family. A shared goal was that after 18-months, stronger family units will be formed, better quality of life established, and families will be able to keep their children with them in a loving and more sustainable family environment!
The families were also made aware of the exciting activities they will participate in during the course of the program to assist them to develop their capacity, knowledge, and love for one another. Some of these activities include income generation assistance, parent/caregiver trainings every two months, family fun days, education and health assistance, home visitations, a family graduation camp, and lots of encouragement and support from their loving and caring program coordinator.
In addition, all families had the opportunity to meet and mingle with each other at the three 'Opening Days', with children establishing new friendships through the fun activities and games. This was a most memorable and joyous time for these families as they begin a new and exciting journey together.
The participants left excited about the planned activities for the months ahead and are committed to their responsibilities to build stronger loving families for their children.
